If there is boiling hot water in a container and the water, the container holds a constant temperature. At sea level, is the boiling point of water 212 degrees F or 100 ยบ C. When all the liquid has evaporated water (or in the case of the pot of rice when the water is absorbed by rice), the temperature inside the container immediately rises. The unit has a thermostat that detects when the temperature rises above 212 degrees F in the container, and shuts itself off.
